Alongside my paintings of spaces and objects, I have always been interested in  performers that have stayed with me. These portraits come from an admiration for particular actors, singers, and people from cinema to popular culture. There is an obvious affection for glamour, theatricality and camp within these paintings, but something more personal. I am interested in why certain faces and people stay lodged in our cultural and personal memory.
